Day 84 of Firsts: Try the 15 Minute Workout

There’s a big debate going on these days in exercise world. Some say you have to work out longer. Some say you just have to work out harder.

I have friends who swear by the “15 minute workout”, so I wanted to try it.  Basically, it’s 15 minutes of pain, but then you’re done. One of the main things you do is get in a chair pose against the wall and hold it. 

I know this doesn’t look hard.  I swear it is.

Mike Barretta was teaching this demonstration class at the Bala Cynwyd Aquatic and Fitness Center today.

All I could think is this breathing thing reminds me of being in labor.  The pain thing reminds me of giving birth too.  AHHH! It makes you want to cry!

So what do I think of the debate?  My opinion…either works. You have to work out longer or you have to work out harder, Choose your pain.   

This 15 minute thing is a wicked workout.  Not a bad idea when you’re short on time.
