Day 116 of Firsts: Write Vacation Poem

26 Apr

A poem begins with a lump in the throat. ~Robert Frost

Long day flying back from LA. Thought I might end up blogging about a “security issue” on our flight.

Apparently one stressed passenger didn’t take their medication today.
TSA was all over it.

It’s all good. Decided my first today would be to write a poem about my vacation. (Don’t think I’ve done that since grade school).

Get set. Drum roll.   Here it is.

I’m back from vaca,

What a trip: L.A.,

Ate gaucamole all day,

Green tea and tempeh

At the beach with no shower

Up the canyon, prayer power

Hollywood Hills,

Flying thrills,

Traffic mess,

LA dress,

No sun, so cold

Still fun, I’m sold.

Hugged my daughter,

Laughed with friends,

Back in Philly,

Ahhhhhh, vaca ends.

Good to be home.
