Day 189 of Firsts: Cutting Glass and the Art of Life

7 Jul

Chase down your passion like it’s the last bus of the night.  ~Terri Guillemets

Andi DeMarino is a mother, a dance teacher , a business woman and an artist. She is someone who knows about Firsts and has reinvented herself numerous times

At 23 she opened a hip clothing store called Andrea Joy.  Today  she has own art studio and business called Mosaic Reflections.

Her pieces are bright, inspiring, mosaics made of recycled glass and pieces from here and there. She tried to teach me how to cut glass and we picked key pieces for a project.

But as we worked on the mosaic we also  talked about the key pieces you need to follow your gut, your heart, your passion to make your life what you want it to be.

Andi showed me the art of cutting glass is precise and tedious. It’s wonderfully creative but not an easy process.

My mosaic is definitely a project in the works. So is this journey of Firsts.

I’m really interested in learning more from those of you who have tackled Firsts and want to share them with me. Please feel free to contact me. Tell me what you’re doing, what your passion is, what you would like to bring to others.

Meanwhile, go out and do a First today.

I am so so glad that my friends are contacting you about interesting firsts in their lives. You really touched my friend Mona (who was in the zumba/nia ) class because her husband just passed away three months ago and she said that everyday she is experiencing each day as a first without her husband/soulmate/her other half. She is not ready to share this yet but I hope before your year of firsts are over she will help others get thru this most difficult time. I am a woman who delights in getting together with people and making things happen. i follow my fascinations and enjoy learning new things every day. I am glad you are going to make coffee on friday with Tim. It truly is a wonderful world when people like you and me can make a difference. Please stay in touch! Enjoy the rest of your summer and this summer you are entitled to LIVE,LAUGH,LEARN and REPEAT as often as you desire.Don’t you think its time to TAKE FIVE? stay well and happy, Carole

Andi is truly an inspiring person. Her artistic work comprehends what a true individual she is.
